November Flight from Gordon Lyon

Sat, 11/05/2011

A group of intrepid pilots took advantage of a break in some persistently crappy weather and hiked up Mount Gordon Lyon for a cold (8 degF) November sledder.  The wind was out of the southeast so we hiked to the top and launched to the south.  A couple of folks were brave enough to turn west after launch and zip over the backside toward the LZ which may have been a first.  A couple of them were even able to take advantage of a light tail wind and clear the top of Highland Mountain on the way to the LZ.  The less brave (myself included) took the more typical route of turning east upon launch and heading around the face of Highland Mountain.
