Parawaiting at Hatcher Pass

Sun, 09/09/2012

Leigh Anne, Eddie and I hiked up to Nixons Nose at Hatcher Pass and spent several hours parawaiting under sunny blue skies with the wind blowing the wrong way, and massive overdevelopment with heavy virga to the southeast of us.  There was a surprisingly large amount of snow on the peaks much of which appeared to be sticking around for the rest of the year.  Leigh Anne and I launched the tandem into a brief west wind then found east winds down in the meadow.  Eddie launched shortly after us into a north wind and soared the north face for about half an hour.
